AMIF Language Buddy Online Course - Application Form
This course is being developed as part of an EU funded project under AMIF (Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund).
Course overview:
The Training Course is an integral component of the Language Buddy Training Project. Developed collaboratively by 16 project partners in 8 countries, the course comprises 40 hours of learning, structured across 8 modules. Intake 1 will commence on the week starting 23/06/2025.
The primary objective of this course is to equip higher education institution (HEI) students with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to effectively mentor migrant and refugee secondary school students in language learning and social inclusion, utilizing the Language Buddy (LB) Model.
Course Modules:
- Module 1: Intercultural understanding and dialogue in Education
- Module 2: Principles of Critical and Social Pedagogy
- Module 3: The role of family in language learning and overcoming barriers through non-formal/informal methods for pupils with a refugee/migrant background
- Module 4: Innovative language learning tools
- Module 5: Art as a tool for intercultural dialogue and language learning
- Module 6 Observation, documentation, reflection and (self-) assessment
- Module 7: LB Model & LB System for incorporating it into HEIs
- Module 8: How to organize a Language Buddy Session with the use of the Language Buddy e-Platform and other third-party tools
