Course Overview
Award in Essentials of Management
The Award in Essentials of Management is an EQF/MQF Level 5 course accredited with 8 ECTS credits. The course will provide tools and necessary knowledge and the skill in applying management practices which would help grow and manage a business. It is based on current best practices, which we ourselves apply in the consultancy roles in applying management practices in different organisations. Particularly, the course deals with the four key functions of management, developing and using a business plan, project management and quality management. The course is delivered fully online over a period of 6 weeks.

Session 2 – Control
Session 3 – Organising
Session 4 – Leadership
Session 5- Market Segmentation and Positioning
Session 6 – Developing & using a Business Plan
Session 7 – Designing and Building Organisation
Session 8 – Basic Principles of Project Management
Session 9 – The Value Chain
Session 10 – Basic Principles of Quality and TQM
Session 11 – Agile Principles of Project Management
Session 12 – The Learning Organisation
Assessment Methods:
- Assignment / Case-Study – 1 (Contributes towards 50% of the module)
- Forum Discussions – 2 (Contributes towards 30% of the module)
- Tutorial Participation – 2 tutorial sessions (Contributes towards 20% of the module)
50% Marks in aggregate from the course works is required for getting pass in the module.
Requirements
- You will need a copy of Adobe XD 2019 or above. A free trial can be downloaded from Adobe.
- No previous design experience is needed.
- No previous Adobe XD skills are needed.
